PECE brings together scholars from all subfields of political science to address questions related to climate change and the natural environment. Topics include the politics of energy transition, firms and lobbying, climate public opinion, gender and climate, climate justice, and more. We embrace a range of theoretical and empirical approaches and especially welcome those who are new to the field or simply climate curious. Questions we seek to address include what political forces inhibit or support the emergence of decarbonization? When do citizens support or oppose climate action? How will citizens adapt to growing climate impacts and how will governance institutions respond to growing pressure for decarbonization, adaptation, and social safety nets for the most vulnerable? We welcome submission of full papers and pre-analysis plans and particularly encourage participation from traditionally under-represented groups in the discipline.
Please see the 2025 call for papers for more details. We hope to see you in Vancouver!
